Tung Wah Hospital,

I have the honour to submit for the information of His Excellency the Governor the usual quarterly report regarding the work in the Tung Wah Hospital during the quarter ending 30th June, 1899.

The following table shows the general statistics of the quarter:

Remaining on 1st April. Male Female Total. 120 8 128. Admitted during the quarter. 625 189 812. Total, 940. Discharged. 491 141 632 Died. 155 42 197. Total, 829. Under treatment on 1st July, 97, 14 111.

During the corresponding quarter of 1898 the number of patients admitted was 700, an increase this year of 112.

I append a table (marked A) showing the admission and mortality during the quarter, with the proportion of cases treated by European and Chinese methods respectively.
